My home has structual damage and one side has dropped 4 inches on one corner side. why is it not in the best interest to have one corner of your home rasied versus the entire home raised if the other side of the home is at 0 inches?

I never said," It was in your best interest not to lift the four inch side" But if you are looking to level the home.There is no reason to lift the entire home. Who ever raises the home must be careful because normally no house is perfect and house leveling is an art. If the original house elevation only fell three inches instead of the four you can actualy tear the house up by lifting it too high. Just because the house shows a minus four inch does not mean that it actually fell four inches exactly. If it is a raised house the lower beams should be checked and if it is a slab you want to watch as you raise the slab. As far as raising the house it normally cost alot more to raise the house and in many circumstances you may have to change out or upgrade your exisitng foundation when you raise a house. With can cost much more than just leveling the home. Anyway I hope this helps you. If you have any other questions on house lifting or house leveling ask away. As far as raisng normally most people don't raise there home because of the cost.If you where lucky enough to get the elevation grant letter companies like A-1 Remodeling & Building will actually lift your home but they will also finance the lifting of your home, new foundation and installing staircases etc... if you qualify all for free.
